Warwick Saint is a painter, photographer, and mixed media artist, globally recognized for his mastery of light. His new series, A Legacy Of Light, is the progression of a career that helped shape much of the visual landscape of millennial culture.

Saint has created defining album covers for artists including Lady Gaga, Alicia Keys, Missy Elliot, and Whitney Houston and captured numerous icons such as Beyoncé, Oprah, J Lo, Scarlett Johannsen, Jaime Foxx, Zendaya, Cate Blanchett, Hugh Jackman, Jared Leto and countless others.

In the 2000s, Saint reimagined the role of lighting in photography by adapting techniques from scientific applications of flash and stroboscopics. In 2018, Saint moved beyond traditional photography and began exploring his work through painting.

Saint’s creative process, which he calls “Lumadynamic Decomposition”, comes from challenging his own photography. He creates a “Lumascape” which is a composite of multiple photographs printed on linen mesh, this becomes the foundation of the mixed media work.

He then destructs this “Lumascape” with paint, a process in which emergent content reveals itself.  A reversal in the sense that he moves from photorealism towards abstraction.
